Unisteer Battery Disconnect Switch With Lockout - Our battery lockout switch is a 250 AMP/ 24 VOLT switch that is o-ring sealed to be fully weather proof. This switch meets OSHA 29 CRF 1910.147 for positive "lock-out/tag-out" of power for commercial and recreational vehicles. Our switch is a proven design with updated modern materials for longer life and more consistent performance. - The body of our battery lockout switch is not made of Bakelite, which can crack, break and leak moisture. Instead, we use a high-impact composite plastic which is much stronger and can endure much more external damage. This housing is sealed with an o-ring to the switch mechanism. - The switch mechanism that is used in our battery lockout switch is made of zinc-plated steel. This zinc-plated steel will not corrode like the aluminum mechanism used in the competition's switch. When the competition's mechanism corrodes it can cause two problems. The first is, over time the corrosion will cause the mechanism to freeze or "lock-up" causing the switch to fail. The second problem is subtler. When the aluminum mechanism corrodes it drops corrosion onto the contacts inside the switch. This causes "faults" on many of the computer systems found on newer vehicles. see details
